When the Paracas Trans desert bike trip was  planned the first time we never imagined what was waiting for us. The journey ended to be so rewarding and greatly impressive after living the experience of the desert's secret revealed to us: hidden never seen before ancient geoglyphs lost among the sand dunes.  After that we believe this option fits into the Off The Beaten Trail  for the bike touring enthusiasts. We are going to have an experience including fun, good cycling and good touring.

We have organized it in 4 days - 3 nights. It will include: Round trip bus transport from Lima, expert guide, the bikes for the trip across the Paracas National Reserve, camping equipment, food and accommodation the last night at Paracas in a hotel  right in front of the bay with a nice sea view just to don't forget how civilization is like.

The trip goes well organized with expert guides, GPS navigation equipment, SPOT remote tracking and satellite messenger equipment, radiocommunication equipment, mechanic support for the bike, medical kit and first aid in case of need.

Trip description:

Day 1.  Bus trip Lima-Pisco. Bike ride following the secret trail discovered on our previous expedition  leading to the hidden geoglyphs site. Camp.

Day 2.  Breakfast. Full day cycling through the desert toward Laguna Grande fishermen vilage. Rest stop at Laguna Grande, seafood dinner and overnight in camp or in a local fishermen shack.

Day 3. Breakfast. After resupply hydration fluid the cycling continues northward through the desert along the coast line up to Lagunillas for a great seafood lunch at legendary Tía Fela's. The day ends at Paracas to rest and stay overnight in a hotel with a nice sea view.

Day 4. Breakfast. Relax day either at the beach or optional Ballestas Islands boat trip. Afternoon return by bus to Lima

Cuando el viaje en bici Trans Desert fue planeado por primera vez, nunca imaginamos lo que nos esperaba. La travesía terminó siendo muy gratificante e impresionante después de vivir la experiencia única de la revelación del secreto del desierto: geoglifos ancestrales ocultos nunca antes vistos perdidos entre las dunas de arena.  Después de eso, creemos que esta opción es una de las mejores fuera de serie para los amantes de de aventuras en bicicleta. Vamos a vivir una experiencia que incluye diversión, buen cycling y buen turismo.

Lo hemos organizado en 4 días / 3 noches que incluye: Transporte en bus ida y vuelta desde Lima, guía experto,  recorridos en bici por la Reserva Nacional de Paracas, camping y la noche final en un hotel en Paracas frente a la bahía solo para no olvidar como era la civilización.

El viaje va muy bien organizado, con guías expertos, equipo de navegación GPS, equipo SPOT de rastreo remoto y mensajería satelital, equipos de radiocomunicación, soporte mecánico para las bicis, botiquín y primeros auxilios en caso de necesidad.

Todos están invitados a vivir la experiencia del desierto.

Descripción del viaje.
Día 1.  Viaje en bus Lima - Pisco. Recorrido en bici por el sendero que descubrimos en la expedición anterior hasta llegar al lugar de los geoglifos ocultos entre las dunas de arena. Campamento.

Día 2.  Desayuno. Partimos muy temprano y todo el día haremos el recorrido en bici a través del desierto hacia la caleta de pescadores Laguna Grande, aquí descansamos, cenamos y pasamos la noche en campamento o en una casa de una familia de pescadores.

Día 3.  Desayuno. Después de reabastecernos de rehidratante reiniciamos la marcha rumbo norte .  El viaje por el desierto ahora sigue la línea de la costa hasta Lagunillas. Tomaremos un delicioso almuerzo marino en el legendario restaurant de la Tía Fela.  Pasamos la noche en Paracas en un hotel frente a la bahía.

Día 4. Desayuno. Relax y día de playa. Opcional un paseo en lancha a las Islas Ballestas. Retorno a Lima en  bus.

The Trans Desert bike trip this year is with a especial mission: to protect the hidden Paracas Geoglyphs againts the threat of possible destruction by the pass of the Dakar 2012 rally vehicles.

The Geoglyphs are not protected, there are not signs, they are not on the maps, all these make them very vulnerable.  We know the secret of their location and we will be there on the day of the Dakar vehicles pass, January 14th 2012 to stand on safe and strategic spots with markers visible to the pilots to make sure nothing bad would occur to the Geoglyphs.

Afterwards we will follow our way on bikes through the desert on the Paracas National Reserve to Bahía de la Independencia, Paracas and finally Pisco.

Cuidado con el Dakar

4 días / 3 noches

Iremos a recorrer el Trans Desert, esta vez con una misión especial: proteger los geoglifos desconocidos de Paracas ante la amenaza de posible destrucción por el paso de los vehículos del Rally Dakar 2012.

Los geoglifos no están protegidos, no hay señalización, no están en los mapas, lo cual los hace muy vulnerables.  El secreto de su ubicación lo sabemos, estaremos en el lugar el día del paso de los Dakar, el 14 de Enero, nos ubicaremos en lugares seguros y estratégicos con banderas visibles para los pilotos para asegurar que no ocurra nada malo contra los geoglifos.

Luego seguiremos nuestro recorrido en bicicleta hacia la Bahía de la Independencia y continuamos hasta Paracas y Pisco a través de la Reserva Nacional de Paracas.
